I edit and produce the district-wide Leute newsletters for Berlin’s daily paper, Der Tagesspiegel reaching over 240.000 subscriptions in Berlin’s 12 districts. My role bridges the editorial, product and business side of our newsletters.

I founded Nómadas, a feminist newsletter collective, published bimonthly since 2016 in English and Spanish. And New Views from the Bloc, a newsletter highlighting new perspectives from eastern Europe, with ten editions published in 2019.

Working with and developing newsletters, I am deeply interested on how to engage with communities in a sustainable way, paying attention and listening to their information needs. As a member of the 2019 “Engaging Communities” cohort, I developed a newsletter around community engagement and volunteering for Tagesspiegel. This newsletter now reaches over 10.000 subscribers in Berlin and beyond.

I love talking and learning about newsletters, engaged journalism and building trust in media. My latest has been a talk on Building local community trust through newsletters at SRCCON 2020 (scroll through the slides here). It was exciting to participate in this fully digital format, which still felt very hands-on. I was also participated on a scholarship at the 2020 Online News Association’s Conference and at the 2021 inaugural News Product Alliance Summit.
